A clever combination of instruction booklet, to scale pattern pieces and a handpicked sequin and bead pack means making your own Mischievous Kittens just got easier!
No need to print out your templates or buy thousands of beads you don't need, I have taken my latest digital download and reworked it completely to create a 12 page full colour instruction booklet printed on a lovely matt paper (Ideal if you want to add your own notes in the margins!)
The booklet contains a materials list, my favourite tips and tricks for embroidering on felt, step by step photographs and templates to scale. There is one set of templates printed in the booklet and one set printed on freezer paper. This set can be ironed directly onto your felt, doing away with the need for pins and making them much easier to cut out. They can also be reused several times.
The sparkle kit contains a selection of beads and sequins and gold thread for decorating your Kittens plus some brooch backs for making kitten head badges and a pipe cleaner for their tails. This pack contains seed and bugle beads in a selection of colours including gold, silver and orange (for the Ginger Toms!) A mix of sequins of different shapes and sizes including stars and torquiose and gold for the eyes. I've sourced all the fiddly bits for you!
ABOUT THE MISCHIEVOUS KITTENS
I've inspiringly named my two kittens Wide and Tall! These embroidered felt cats stand around 11cm tall and 5cm wide and are a lovely project to stitch over a couple of cosy evenings. The heads make perfect brooches for your coats and then can be detatched (and reattached) to the body using the brooch pin for safe storage.
These cats can be customised in so many different ways- They can be made massive to make cuddly toys and doorstops or in different colours as pet pawtrait gifts for your friends and family.
WHAT ELSE YOU NEED
To complete your Kittens you will need to purchase (or find in your stash) a 20 x 30cm sheet of felt in a colour of your choice for the body, white for their ears, eyes and tums and any other colours you fancy for decoration. I prefer to use 100% wool felt as it is so lovely to work with and is very strong. I purchase mine from Cloud Craft. The colours of the felt I have used for the Kittens in the booklet are Dogs Nose Black, and Elephant Grey for the body then Just off white for the tummy and eyes and Nougat pink for the inner ears. You will also need some embroidery threads in colours of your choice.
