Who are the Wyld Women? The Wyld Women are a band of powerful women. Unique, enchanting figures that arrive each month with their own stories and seasonal connections.
I was inspired to create this magical world while researching my family name, Leech, and discovering its roots in the Anglo-Saxon lǣce traditions. Lǣces were the herbalists, healers, and wise women whose knowledge, resourcefulness and creativity helped their communities.
I have loved coming up with a different character for each month, taking inspiration from the seasons. I hope that as you stitch them they will become quiet companions and talismans giving you the opportunity to slow down, sew at your own pace and find some moments of calm and creativity.
Over the year, your Wyld Women and Wyrd Flora not only grow together into a seasonal wall-hanging but each one is special enough to stand alone, to share as gifts or create unique home accessories.
I created these projects to nurture your creativity and give you small, joyful rituals to return to month after month. They are cleverly designed using a handful of geometric shape templates. Each month new template shapes are 'unlocked' and as your collection grows so will your creativity and ability to create hundreds of unique characters.

1. What do I get when I subscribe to the Sewyeah Social Club? As a subscriber, you’ll receive two beautifully designed embroidery project PDFs every month. You’ll also gain access to the Virtual Sewyeah Clubhouse, a monthly live video club night, a private Whatsapp group, bonus loyalty points and discounts on past projects.
2. Are the projects beginner-friendly or aimed at more experienced stitchers? Each project is designed to appeal to both beginners and experienced stitchers. Templates and step by step photographic and written instructions make it easy for newcomers, while advanced stitch school tutorials and customization options keep things exciting for seasoned crafters. The designs are intended for adults, but they’re great for crafting with children aged 12 and older. (The finished projects contain small parts, so they’re not suitable as toys for young children.)
3. Do I need to buy materials, or are they included? This is a digital only subscription. Materials are not included, allowing you to choose your own color palettes and make use of supplies and equipment you already have. Each project is designed with sustainability in mind, so you’re encouraged to source felt, threads, beads, and sequins second-hand or from your stash. While the designs are optimized for 100% wool felt, you can experiment with other felt mixes and materials. I love 100% wool felt as it is strong and a joy to sew. You can unpick and restitch sections without it going bobbly or stretching out of shape. Other felts may be thinner and less fun to work with. I am always looking for good vegan alternatives to wool felt, so if you know of any do let me know! There are more details of what you might need in your embroidery kit in the Sewyeah Sews Handbook and Embroidery Journal, which you will receive in your welcome email. You don’t need a sewing machine as the projects are all designed to be hand embroidered, of course if you are adept with a sewing machine you can alway experiment with larger versions of the templates. Let me know how you get on!
4. How long does each project take to complete? Most projects can be completed in an afternoon, but they’re flexible enough to fit into a busy schedule, easily to pick-up and put-downable! You’ll also find suggestions for how to adapt and expand each design for additional creative fun. The projects are designed to be bite-sized and manageable, but there’s no pressure to keep up. You can save the downloads and complete them whenever it fits your schedule. They’ll always be yours to revisit.
5. When will I receive my first project? All projects are emailed to subscribers in the first week of each month. if you subscribe after the project for that month has gone out, your welcome email will contain the link to current project or projects if you have joined for the year. Then you will have access to the Clubhouse to download future projects. (If you don't receive your welcome email within 12 hours of subscribing, please check your junk mail and then if necessary email christine@sewyeahsocialclub.com.)
6. What happens if I want to cancel my subscription? If you cancel during your subscription period, you’ll retain access to all projects and benefits until the end of that period. Subscriptions will automatically renew unless cancelled by you before the next cycle begins. This is easy to do when you login to the site and access “My Subscriptions”.
7. How does the Virtual Sewyeah Clubhouse and the private Whatsapp group work? The Clubhouse is an online space where subscribers can visit the Stitchery for more bonus projects and access past video meet-ups (You just need to be logged in to the website to access this space.) The private Whatsapp group is a supportive and friendly community, perfect for inspiration and connection that you can choose to join. A lovely place to share progress, photos and ask questions.
8. Can I purchase individual projects without subscribing? Yes, individual projects will be available in the Sewyeah shop for £5 each. However, subscribing gives you early access to the projects as well as exclusive perks, discounts, access to the Virtual Clubhouse and the Whatsapp community, making it the best value!
